Purpose
The purpose of NODOR is to find, film, and study large deep ocean organisms. NODOR's main research methodology will be to lower specialized cameras with lures and baits into the deep ocean in the hopes of attracting these large predators into view. Most of NODOR's research will be on the open ocean and at depths greater than 1000 feet. Most of the creatures we are hoping to see are know to science from their dead bodies, yet have never been filmed alive. We are hoping to not only see these creatures, but also with our methodology, we are hoping to see their habits and predation styles. We know more about the surface of the moon than about the organisms that inhabit the deep.
